Infinity’s Humanitarian Logistics was activated early this morning to reach out to the Penang flash flood victims. We joint hands with other industry bodies to transport 5 units of rescue boats to evacuate people who were stranded in certain areas and a 5-tonne truck to send drinking water, food and some other relief items to 3 relief centres located in Bukit Mertajam, Bagan and Jelutong.
Due to extended heavy rain and strong wind, a large part of Penang was affected. Groups of volunteers turned up at the relief centres to guide and help these victims. Along with them, Dato’ Chan Kong Yew, Infinity’s MD, also visited the affected area to coordinate the distributions of the relief items. According to the local newspaper, penangites are describing these flash flood incident as the worst disaster in more than 20 years. Let us together pray for their safety. #Savepenang
